Dynamic codes need a free account. You can change what they open after printing, and see how often they are scanned.
Static code: what you enter is printed straight into the pattern. It never expires and works without this app, but it can't be changed after you print it.
2Design
Modules are the small squares that carry your data. Rounder shapes look softer; plain squares scan best on tiny prints.
The three large squares are finder patterns. Scanners use them to locate and straighten the code.
A logo hides part of the code. Error correction rebuilds what's hidden, so adding a logo switches it to level H (30%).
